This part time position has become available in The Breeders’ office in Christchurch.
We require a highly self-motivated individual to take responsibility for all aspects of our Membership Services and administration of our XERO accounting system. You will also provide administrative support to our Executive Manager.
This is a varied busy role that needs someone who is super organised, takes ownership of tasks, has an annoyingly high attention to detail and is incredibly efficient.
The position is for 15 hours per week, although additional hours may be required from time to time.
We are a voluntary organisation with an office in Addington. This role can be performed from the office and home base, but the candidate must be in the Canterbury area and able to commute to HQ in Addington. We provide a high standard of service and would expect the applicant to be able to uphold this standard at all times. The Breeders has over 600 financial members and represents the 3000 people who bred standardbred horses in New Zealand.
Maintaining and updating of XERO accounting system including processing invoices and payments for approval by the approved signatories, maintaining the payroll module, preparing all IRD returns, following-up on accounts receivable and preparing reports for the Executive Manager.
Preparing monthly financial statements including a profit & loss statement, balance sheet and a forward three months cash flow estimate.
Maintaining and updating an accurate database of financial members with the Customer Relations Management system.
Administration duties including assisting with membership services including mail outs, banking and similar administrative duties.
Maintaining parts of The Breeders website in particular horses for sale & lease, current events. (Training will be provided)
Available for contact and messages when the Executive Manager is on leave or not available e.g. an alternative contact for Foal Alert Service during the breeding season.
Such other similar activities as requested from time to time by the Executive Manager.
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:
Be honest reliable and trustworthy
Proven office financial and accounting experience to high standards
Proven experience with XERO accounting software essential (additional training will be provided as needed)
A mature and self-motivated attitude and loads of initiative.
A strong customer service ethic dedicated to the success of the organisation
The willingness to "pitch in" and help out where needed
Computer literate with some experience in Xero, Microsoft Word, Excel
High level of integrity with great written and verbal communication skills.
