The NZSBA is made up of three regional breeder affiliated associations:
·NZ Standardbred Breeders (Southland Branch) Association Inc
·Canterbury Standardbred Breeders Association Inc
·N.Z. Standardbred Breeders (North Island Branch) Association Inc
Members of the NZSBA annually elect a National Executive that comprises of two representatives from each of the three Regional Breeders Associations together with the breeder’s elected representative of Harness Racing New Zealand (HRNZ).
The National Executive for the 2009/2010 season comprises of:

The NZSBA also employ a full-time Executive Manager responsible for the management, implementation and monitoring of all activities of the NZSBA.

Our Promise
The NZSBA has over 350 members nationwide, our members are Standardbred horse breeders and owners.They are highly involved, passionate individuals many of whom have a significant investment in the industry and all of whom stand at the heart of the Harness Racing Industry.
To reflect the passion and commitment of our members the NZSBA is embarking on raising the profile of the Standardbred breed in the following ways:
·Promoting ownership of Standardbred horses
·Promoting quality breeding of the Standardbred horse and ethical industry practice
·Promoting policies which bring increased revenues and returns to individual breeders
·Monitoring industry developments to help minimize costs to breeders
·Promoting group racing for fillies and mare, and encouraging racing clubs to increase the spread of stake money
·Supporting the development of effective governance within the Harness Racing industry
·Participating in all aspects of theHarness Racing Industry
